The Autumn (El Otoño)
(Fragment)

It must be that the abundance
of the circuit of life,
in its culmination,
develops such beauty,
that I identify myself with the harmony
of death?

I mean to say.
that in our daily prayers,
we pray for life,
and we forget to ask
for our death,
that it may be pleasant, harmonius,
sweet, beatific.

One lives without being aware
of our farewell.
There are philosophies that wait
for the end with the venerable
predisposition of letting go to the final sleep
in peace, without anguish, like
letting oneself be taken
in total consciousness
that we enter into the orbit
of the inevitable.
with total conscience
and without despair.

The Autumn is that.

To observe the dying
that expands before our eyes and
senses
with its magnificence,
that splendor,
that simphony of colors
exposed before our very eyes.
It is a design of
indescribable beauty.
