Farewell Friend, Farewell
Farewell my friend I cannot hold you back
You left my side at the moment
That I was arriving.
I saw you part
Taking with you my being.
Your words remained fixed
In my mind and heart:
“Even though the cloud may turn gray and
Winter reign in the air and our veins,
Your name with your countenance, full
Of light, warms me, accompanies me, always!”
My tears I could not contain
When I saw you there, inmobile
Rigid and without life,
And I touched your cold hands.
I asked myself
Where may you be?
And I cried desparately, saying:
“Do not go, please come back!"
Oh My God, why are you taking her?
And how will I do to forget her,
If I strived to love her how I never
Loved anybody else?
Today I remember and I hear your voice
Telling me:
“Even though centuries, eternities and storms will pass
That will take everything with them, from you, I cannot free myself,
Nor separate
Nor deny”.
PEACE IN YOUR SOUL
AND MAY YOU CHERISH THE HAPPINESS
OF THE LIGHT.
